Chapter-73 Main Agar Kahoon!

I was just about to drift off, Navi snoring softly beside me, when my phone lit up with a ping. Lazily, I reached for it, blinking at the bright screen. It was a message from Vayu.

"Don't sleep. We're going out."

I frowned at the screen, half-awake. Out? Now? I quickly typed back,

"Are you crazy? It's late!"

Another ping.

"Exactly. No one's awake. Come on, sneak out."

I glanced over at Navi and thought what could Vayu possibly be planning this time?

I texted back quickly,

"I'm not coming, Vayu. Go to sleep!"

Barely a moment passed before another message pinged in:

"Okay, then I'll just come over, lift you up in my arms, and take you myself."

My eyes widened as I stared at the screen. He wouldn’t… would he?

Obviously he would!

“Wait, I'm coming!”

I texted and tiptoed to the bathroom to change my clothes. I threw on a hoodie and pants quickly, trying to move as quietly as possible.

My heart pounded in my chest as I tiptoed toward the door, careful not to make a sound. I glanced back at Navi still fast asleep, and quietly locked the door behind me, holding my breath.

Once out in the hallway, I let out a sigh of relief, feeling a surge of excitement as I typed,

"Alright, I’m out. Where are we going?" and sent it to Vayu.

I decided to go to his room and started walking hastily. Suddenly out of nowhere, I felt a hand clamped over my mouth, and before I could react, I was lifted off the ground.

My heart raced as panic set in, but I knew exactly who it was.

I tried to wriggle free, mumbling against his hand, but Vayu just laughed softly behind me.

"Told you I’d come to get you," he whispered playfully in my ear as he carried me effortlessly.

I rolled my eyes, still struggling to breathe through his hand. "Vayu, put me down!" I mumbled.

But he was too adamant to listen and held me securely as he moved swiftly and quietly through the cottage, his eyes darting around to make sure no one was watching.

My heart was racing, both from the thrill of sneaking out and from being in his arms like this.

“Vayu, seriously, put me down!” I whispered against his hand, but he just smirked, his grip steady.

“We’re almost out,” he murmured, finally easing me down once we reached the front door. He carefully unlocked it and led me outside into the cool night air.

My eyes widened as I saw a bike parked right in front of me, gleaming under the dim light.

I turned to Vayu, completely baffled. “How on earth did you manage to get a bike in Mussoorie?”

He shrugged, a sly grin on his face. “I’ve got my ways.”

I stared at him, still in disbelief. “This is insane.”

I climbed onto the bike behind him, still curious. "Okay, seriously, where are we heading?"

He turned his head slightly, his smirk evident "You’ll see," he said, refusing to give anything away.

With that, he revved the engine, and we sped off into the quiet, moonlit streets of Mussoorie. The wind whipped through my hair, the cool air hitting my face as I clung to him.

After about 15 minutes, Vayu finally slowed the bike to a stop. I climbed down, the cool night air feeling fresh against my face.

He took my hand without a word, leading me down a small path, the crunch of gravel beneath our feet the only sound in the stillness.

We walked for about five minutes when suddenly, my breath hitched in my throat.

It was a breathtaking valley view, the village lights below twinkling like stars scattered across the dark canvas of the hills.

The serene beauty of the scene left me speechless, as if the world itself had slowed down for this one perfect moment.

I stood there, mesmerised, my hand still in Vayu’s, unable to believe the beauty of it all.

While I was busy adoring the stunning valley view, the world around me faded into a beautiful blur.

I felt so at peace, lost in the moment, when suddenly I felt Vayu lean closer to me.

His breath tickled my ear as he whispered, “Another bucket list wish check!”

I turned to him, dumbfounded, momentarily unable to process what he had just said. “Wait, what?” I stammered, my heart racing with confusion and excitement.

“Seeing the valley view between the hills!” He muttered, pulling me closer.

“Did I write this in my diary too?” I asked, shifting my gaze back to the serene beauty in front of my eyes.

“Yes!” He replied, pecking my cheeks.

“I didn’t even remember when I wrote this in it,” I said aloud, almost to myself, my thoughts drifting back to the diary filled with childhood dreams.

Vayu, sensing the weight of my words, gently held up my chin, tilting my face toward him.

His gaze locked onto mine, sincere and unwavering. “You don’t need to remember anything,” he said softly.

“Because I’m here to fulfil everything you’ve written.”

His words struck a chord deep within me, and I felt a rush of emotions. “Really?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

“Absolutely,” he affirmed, his smile warm and reassuring. “Every adventure, every dream you’ve ever had, I want to make it a reality for you. You deserve all of it and more.”

Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as his promise washed over me like a wave of comfort.

With my heart swelling, I realized that in him, I had found not just a partner, but a person who was genuinely invested in fulfilling every dream I had once written down.

The valley view before us seemed even more breathtaking now, illuminated by the promise of our future together.

After returning from the mesmerising valley view, Reya drifted off to sleep in my arms.

I watched her peaceful expression, her face glowing with happiness, and I couldn’t help but smile.

There was so much ahead that she didn’t know—so many surprises I’d planned just for her.

The excitement of it all buzzed inside me, but for now, I let the moment take over.

I leaned down, gently kissing her forehead before nestling into her, feeling the warmth of her body as I closed my eyes. In her arms, everything felt perfect as sleep slowly pulled me under.

Morning

I woke up to the sound of noise around me. Still groggy, I lazily rubbed my eyes and tried to make sense of the chaos.

My mom and Navi were standing by the bed, both shouting at me for oversleeping.

"Itni der tak sota rahega kya? Sab wait kar rahe hai!" my sister exclaimed.

I blinked a few times, trying to wake up fully.

"Haan, haan, uth raha hoon," I muttered, still feeling disoriented. I glanced around the room, but something was off.

"Reya kahaan hai?" I asked, looking for her. But she was nowhere to be seen.

My mom shot me a confused look. "Reya? Vo apne room mein hogi! Kyu kya hua?”

She raised an eyebrow and I realised that no one knew she had slept with me except Navi who was standing behind Mummy, trying to stifle a laugh.

She was smirking at me like she was in on some secret joke.

I cleared my throat, trying to play it cool. "Nahi, bas aise hi puch raha tha.”

Mummy frowned, crossing her arms. "Acha, chal, jaldi se tayar ho jaa. Engagement ke liye sab intezaar kar rahe hain."

I nodded as they left the room and I went inside the bathroom to do my business.

Once I was ready for the engagement, I took a moment to admire myself in the mirror.

I smoothed down my outfit and adjusted my hair, wanting everything to be just right. The reflection staring back at me looked excited yet nervous.

I couldn't help but smile, thinking about my Sunflower and how beautiful she would look.

As I turned to leave, I shot one last glance at my reflection. With a determined nod, I headed downstairs, ready to embrace the next chapter of my life.

I descended down the stairs and saw everyone gathered in the cosy hall of the cottage, beautifully decorated with fairy lights and vibrant flowers.

The warm ambiance filled the air with excitement and anticipation.

As I made my way to my parents and other family members, I could feel the energy buzzing around me.

Laughter and chatter filled the room, and I couldn’t help but smile at the sight of my loved ones coming together for this special occasion.

I was busy in conversation with one of my cousins when the door opened, and Reya walked in, radiant and glowing.

I couldn't take my eyes off her, she was wearing a saree that was beautifully draped around her. The delicate fabric hugged her figure perfectly, and the way she carried herself exuded grace and elegance.

As she smiled and made her way toward me, my heart raced. I couldn’t hold back any longer; I strode toward her, feeling an irresistible urge to be close.

Taking her hands in mine, I gently led her to the sofa set reserved for us.

“Oh my God!” I said, a little breathless, “Mar jaunga ese taiyaar hoke aayegi toh!”

She blushed, the corners of her lips curling into a shy smile. “Shut up, Kashyap!”

I chuckled, as we settled on the sofa. She leaned in slightly, our hands still intertwined. “You've got the last chance Kashyap! Bhaag le varna lifetime main bhagaungi!” she whispered.

I chuckled at her words, “Even if I got a million chances to leave you, I would rather choose to stay without any reason! Aur agar bhaaga to tujhe saath lekar bhaagunga!”

Her eyes sparkled with tears, but she blinked them immediately preventing them from oozing out of her eyes.

I pulled out my hanky from the pocket of my pyjamas and forwarded it to her.

“I love you, Kashyap!” She smiled, tightening her hold around my hand.

“I love you, Sunflower!”

Everyone gathered around us and just when the ceremony was about to begin, we heard a cheerful feminine voice calling out, “Reya!”

Our attention instantly shifted toward the source of the voice. We looked around and spotted Tanishka, standing there with Dhairya, beside her.

Tanishka waved enthusiastically, her face beaming with excitement.

“Yay! Finally, we’re here!” she exclaimed, making her way through the crowd. Dhairya followed closely, chuckling at her enthusiasm.

Reya’s face lit up with joy as she got up to greet them. “Tanishka! Oh my God! You came!”

Tanishka hugged her tightly. “Of course! Meri best friend ki shaadi hai bhyii, ese kese nahi aati?”

As they embraced, Dhairya approached me with a grin. “Looking sharp, man. Ready for the big moment?”

I nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. “Definitely!” I replied.

The room was filled with laughter as they both chatted animatedly, and it was heartwarming to see the bond they shared.

And finally, the ceremony started.

Navi, with a playful grin on her face, performed our tilak and conducted a few rituals, her excitement palpable.

She then turned to us, holding out the rings that were supposed to symbolise our commitment to each other.

“Are you both ready for this?” she asked, raising an eyebrow teasingly.

Reya smiled, her eyes sparkling with joy. “Navi, I already gave your brother a last chance to run from me but it seems like he wanted to stay!”

All three of us chuckled, before Navi handed me the ring, and I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment.

With a grin, I took Reya’s hand, slipping the ring onto her finger. “Welcome to forever,” I whispered, my heart racing.

She looked down at the ring, then back at me, her smile widening. “It's beautiful!”

Then it was my turn. Reya carefully took the ring from Navi and, with a gentle touch, slid it onto my finger.

“Now we’re officially engaged!” she declared, her voice full of happiness.

I leaned near to her earlobe and muttered, “We're unofficially married too, for that matter, Mrs. Kashyap!”

Her cheeks coated with the darkest tints of red and the room erupted in cheers and applause as our families celebrated our union.

We clicked so many pictures while the music played in the background, creating a vibrant atmosphere that made everything feel magical.

The camera flashed repeatedly, capturing our smiles, laughter, and the joyful chaos that surrounded us.

I was indulged in conversation with Tanu when I realised Vayu wasn't beside me. I looked around but found him nowhere.

Thinking that he might be using the washroom, I turned to Tanu again as we continued our gossip.

I was engrossed in conversation with Tanu when Vayu suddenly appeared out of nowhere, leaning down with a playful smile.

He extended his hand and said, "Sunflower, allow me to fulfill another of your bucket list wishes!"

My eyes widened in surprise as I tried to process what was happening. Another wish? What could it be this time?

I hesitated for just a second before placing my hand in his. Without a word, he led me to the dance floor.

The moment we reached it, the familiar tune of "Main Agar Kahoon" started playing.

He gently twirled me, his movements smooth and confident.

As we danced, memories flooded back—years ago, when this song had first caught my attention. I had dreamed of dancing to it one day with the person I’d spend my life with.

And here we were, in the middle of that very moment.

He smiled knowingly, as if he could see right into my heart.

He took me into his arms, our movements smooth as we began to sway to the music.

Tumko Paya Hai To Jaise Khoya Hoon

Kehna Chahoon Bhi To Tumse Kya Kahon

Tumko Paya Hai To Jaise Khoya Hoon

Kehna Chahoon Bhi To Tumse Kya Kahon

Kisi Zabaon Mein Bhi Woh Labaz Hi Nahi

Ki Jeene Mein Tum Ho Kya Tumhein Mein Bata Sakun

Main Aagar Kahoon Tumsa Haseen

Kaynaat Mein Nai Hai Kahin

Tareef Yeh Bhi To Sach Hai Kuch Bhi Nahi

Tumko Paya Hai To Jaise Khoya Hoon..

With a tender spin, he twirled me away, only to pull me back into his embrace. His hand remained securely on my waist, and I followed his lead effortlessly.

Shokhiyon Mein Dooobi Yeh Aadayein

Chehre Se Jhalki Hui Hain

Zulf Ki Ghani Ghani Ghatayein

Shaan Se Dhalki Hui Hain

Lehrata Aachal Hai Jaise Badal

Bhaahon Mein Bhari Hai Jaise Chandani

Roop Ki Chandani

Main Agar Kahoon Yeh Dilkashi

Hai Nahi Kahin Na Hogi Kabhi

Tareef Yeh Bhi To Sach Hai Kuch Bhi Nahi

Tumko Paya Hai To Jaise Khoya Hoon..

We swayed gently, the world around us fading as the soft glow of the lights highlighted the delicate shimmer of my saree.

Tum Hue Meherbaan

To Hai Yeh Dastan

Hoo Tum Hue Meherbaan

To Hai Yeh Dastan

Abb Tumhara Mera Ek Hai Karwaan

Tum Jahan Mein Wahan

Our movements were in perfect sync, as though we’d rehearsed this a hundred times. With a smile, Vayu spun me again, this time dipping me low, his hand supporting me with ease.

Main Agar Kahoon

Humsafar Meri

Apsara Ho Tum Ya Koi Pari

Tareef Yeh Bhi To Sach Hai Kuch Bhi Nahi

Tumko Paya Hai To Jaise Khoya Hoon..

Kehna Chahoon Bhi To Tumse Kya Kahon

Kisi Zabaon Mein Bhi Woh Labaz Hi Nahi

Ki Jeene Mein Tum Ho Kya Tumhein Mein Bata Sakun

He twirled me once more, this time slower, savoring the movement as if time had slowed just for us.

As the final notes played, he pulled me back into his arms, our bodies close, our foreheads almost touching. I felt his breath on my cheek, and I knew this was a moment I’d never forget.

Main Aagar Kahoon Tumsa Haseen

Kaynaat Mein Nai Hai Kahin

Tareef Yeh Bhi To Sach Hai Kuch Bhi Nahi

Tumko Paya Hai To Jaise Khoya Hoon…

With one last twirl, the song ended, and we stood still, slightly out of breath, surrounded by soft claps and cheers. My eyes met his, filled with so much emotion, it was hard to put into words.

He leaned closer and whispered, "Another wish checked off, Sunflower."

I smiled up at him, realizing in that moment that he wasn’t just fulfilling my bucket list—he was creating a life with me that went beyond my wildest dreams.
