Chapter-51 His pessimism won, again!

I felt strong arms around my waist as my eyes flickered. I slowly opened my eyes, my gaze moving around and stopped at Vayu.

His face seemed calm, his eyes closed. His head was resting over the pillow while mine was over on his arm. An impromptu smile appeared on my face.

I lifted my head a little only to get a heavy pain. My head felt heavy at that time, headache prevailing into my brain as if drums were continuously being played inside it.

I winced in pain, making Vayu open his eyes. “Are you okay, Sunflower?” His concerned voice came.

“Hmm! My heart felt heavy, I don't know why.”

He took a deep breath and he cupped my face into his hands and muttered, “Because you were drunk!”

“No I wasn't!” I whispered curling my lips into a pout.

He released a deep sigh and shook his head. My hold around him only tightened as I loosen myself into his arms, closing my eyes.

“I didn't drink!” I murmured again before the world around me shut again.

The fact that she was constantly denying that she didn't drink made me confused. Her actions were clearly depicting that she wasn't sober. I can smell the alcohol.

Looking at her sleeping peacefully in my arms made my lips curl into a sleek smile. I pecked her forehead and then tucked the duvet around her perfectly before leaving the room. I pulled my phone out and called Navi.

“Meet me at the terrace!” I uttered as soon as she picked the call.

“Will be there in just 5 mins.” she replied.

Making my way towards the terrace I called Tanishka too to join us.

This was not something normal. Reya could never drink on her own choice. Like never. We have plans to get drunk together and for this we both have waited and will wait for the right time.

She used to say ‘I want to get drunk with you, and only you!’ And I know her well enough that she can't do something like this under any kind of peer pressure. She can't let go of her controls.

Standing near the edge of the terrace I leaned against the half wall waiting for both of them. My gaze was fixed on the ground, my mind trying to accommodate everything that happened just a few hours ago.

Her jealousy is something that I'd rarely seen. Jokes apart, she had never been this protective of me before. I mean I was glad she was putting her rights over me but this was something unusual too.

She had never abused someone openly like she did today. Yes, we two gossip a lot about people and that conversation of ours does include using cuss words sometimes but what she did today was totally unexpected.

My chains of thoughts were broken when I heard footsteps and my gaze lifted up to see the approaching figure. As soon as I saw Tanishka coming towards me, I stood straight.

She was merely 5 steps away from me when I urgently uttered, “What's she doing here?”

Her brows twitched in confusion as she approached me saying, “Who she?”

Before I could even reply to her query, Navi stepped on the terrace and replied, “Tejasvi!”

My eyes moved back to Tanishka whose body froze for a second before she muttered, “WHO?”

I sighed and nodded swiftly, “Yes! She's here!” Meanwhile Navi approached us as we three stood near the edge of the terrace.

“Why did you call her to your wedding Tanu? You know how much this can affect Reya?” I asked my gaze fixed on the city lights.

“Vayush, I swear I've no idea how she's here. No one invited her or her family.” Tanu replied with a guilt in her voice.

“How's bhabhi Bhai?” Navi spoke up in between drawing my attention towards her.

My lips parted to reply but Tanu turned towards Navi and asked urgently, “What happened to Reya? Is she fine?”

“Her drink was spiked!” Navi muttered resting against the adjacent wall of the terrace.

Tanu's eyes widened in shock and she shook her head, “There was no alcohol in the beverages section. I myself double checked everything..”

“Exactly, but Bhabhi was drunk. And we're 100 percent sure Tejasvi was behind all this.” Navi spoke up, throwing her arm around Tanu as a protective gesture.

“How do you guys know?” She raised a query for us.

Navi sighed deeply before continuing, “I heard her myself.”

She rubbed her face and continued, “When I arrived in the resort, I collided with her in the hallway. Initially I had no idea if she was Tejasvi but during all this her phone fell on the ground and what I heard over it made me suspicious of her.”

“What did you hear?” Tanu asked again.

“The other voice said, ‘Make sure you take our revenge this time! I want both of them out soon!’ I don't know who was on the other end but my suspicion reached another level when I heard her talking with someone on call this evening. She herself said she's gonna spike someone's drink in the bachelorette.”

“And then Navi texted me to warn Reya about not getting drunk during the party.” I concluded.

“I was with bhabhi all the time during the party but still that bitch somehow managed to spike her drink.” Navi said with a regret in her voice.

“I don't know how she ended up here but we need to be extra careful, especially with Reya.” Tanu said, making us both nod at her.

NEXT DAY

My eyes opened as the sun rays fell over my face, making me squeeze my eyes. As I opened them, they landed on my Sunflower who was sticking to my body like a koala bear.

After last night's conversation with Navi and Tanu I came back to the room. Reya was sleeping peacefully and I went to her and slept beside her, engulfing her in my arms.

I pecked her lips softly in an attempt to not wake her up but her body started moving and finally she opened her eyes.

“Good morning, Sunflower!” I said with a smile.

She nodded swiftly and smiled. Pushing her face into my chest, she muttered, “I want to sleep!”

I chuckled at her, my hands roaming over her back. “Okay but for one hour only, okay?” I said cutely, running my fingers over her cheeks.

She nodded like a happy kid and went into slumber again.

I got up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom to take a shower. Once I was ready, I made my way outside to look after the marriage functions going on downstairs. In between, my eyes were searching for that bitch who was here to ruin my baby.

I had breakfast and then went to the garden area to meet Dhairya. We discussed something regarding the wedding ceremony.

I didn't realise it had been more than two hours since I came downstairs. Reya must not have woken up till now. I thought to call her but then decided to wake her up myself.

I was on my way towards the room on the second floor when I heard someone calling me. I turned around and my blood started boiling at the sight.

There comes the bitch!

Tejasvi Taneja!

My fingers curled into a fist as I tried to control my anger and I took a deep breath closing my eyes.

“Hey Kashyap!” She approached me.

“What the hell are you doing here?” I said, my tone was nothing but harsh.

“Tanu's wedding! You know!” She said with a smirk.

I stepped closer to her, pointing a finger towards her and muttered, “I'm warning you Tejasvi, fucking stay away from me and my Reya!”

“Oh so you're still not done with her! I see!” she said with her filthy mouth again making my nose flare in anger.

“I'm not done with her until my heart stops beating, and my blood stops flowing.” I groaned looking directly into her eyes.

“Let's see! Kashyap!” She muttered, stepping closer.

I was about to leave and turned around when I saw Reya coming towards me. The anger which was flowing in my blood a second ago felt like vanishing into oblivion as soon as I saw her.

I took long steps towards her and engulfed her in my arms. “You woke up baby?” I cooed at her kissing her forehead.

“Why didn't you wake me up! I got late!” She muttered with a pout. I chuckled at her and was about to reply when we heard a voice from behind my back.

“Well played Reya Sharma!” my pout died as I heard a voice, a familiar voice.

My breath got hitched as I bent sideways to look for the source of the voice. I felt Vayu's eyes constantly over me. Lumps started forming in my throat making me unable to utter a word.

Vayu held my shoulder firmly and made me look at him. He slightly shook his head trying to say not to lose my calm. My chest heaved up and I held Vayu's hand to go back.

We were merely a step or two in the other direction when that bitch showed up again in front of us.

“I'm talking to you, bitch!” She shouted in a rude tone.

“Mind your language, Tejasvi!” Vayu groaned at her, stepping forward but I stopped him.

“We're not interested in talking to you!” I declared and started moving past her, tightening my hold over Vayu's hand.

“She cheated on you Kashyap!” Tejasvi spoke up from behind, making me freeze at my place. My body stiffened and my grip over Vayu's hand loosened.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Vayu asked in a stern voice.

“You're so naive Vayush!” Tejasvi replied with a pleading voice stepping towards him.

Vayu instantly raised his hand to stop her coming closer to him and next moment I felt his hand over my waist as he pulled me towards himself, making me fall over his chest.

“She can never!” He muttered in a rigorous manner, his eyes turning red.

My eyes were nowhere but fixed on Vayu looking at this clenched jaw. “There's where you're wrong, Kashyap!” She said again.

By now, my eyes were filled with tears. I somehow managed to part my lips and say something but the lumps in my throat didn't let me speak.

“I'm warning you that last time Tejasvi just got away from my sight!” Vayu shouted at her, making me flinch.

“Tu kyu chup khadi hai haan? Tell him why didn't you try to talk to him for those two years?” She looked at me as I raised my eyes at her.

I gulped but couldn't reply.

“Huh! You see Vayush! She has no answer.” Tejasvi spoke to Vayu whose eyes were fixed on me.

“Why would she reply? For god sake, stop being blinded by her fake love! She's nothing but mean to you for all those years!” She barked in a rude tone making my heart sink.

“Shut the fuck up Tejashvi!” Vayu roared in anger, his grip tightened around my waist.

“Believe me Kashyap! Ask her yourself. Why didn't she approach you in those two years? Why did she never try to tell you the truth after you got selected in the football team? Where was she for those fucking two years?”

Her questions pierced me like an arrow. The tears that I was trying to control were now moving down my cheeks freely.

I felt Vayu's gaze at me when I turned my face to him. His eyes were holding nothing. His face was totally expressionless.

Were his eyes demanding the answers?

No!

“She's nothing but a selfish person, Vayush! Let me tell you the reasons. She was so glad that she was finally free from you. Because she considered you as a distraction. She thought she could prepare for her entrance exam without any disturbance. And when she got admission in a medical college, she got back to you. She manipulated the truth.” Tejasvi spoke up in a convincing tone.

“Was your career more important to her than your love? Nooo! She took it as an opportunity to nurture her own career. And blaming everything on you.” She continued and I felt Vayu's hand going down and leaving my body.

No, he can't get into her tactics again.

His eyes were nowhere but on the way in front of him. His jaw was still clenched and his fist clenched tightly.

“She exploited everything according to her comfort and made it all look as if she's the victim. And that acid attack? Who knows if she lied about it too? The scar that she presented as evidence, it might be a burn scar!”

And that's when the last ounce of my patience broke. I stepped closer, choked her throat and shouted, “SHUT THE FUCK UP!”

My voice broke in between and finally I stepped back and turned towards Vayu whose eyes were fixed on me. Still emotionless.

More and more tears rolled down my cheeks as I cupped his cheeks with my hands and cried, “Vayu…”

Before I could say anything he removed my hands away and stepped backward. My eyes frowned in confusion and I muttered, “You don't need to listen to her Vayu! She's just trying to manipu…”

My words stopped mid sentence after they were cut by his harsh voice.

“Leave Reya!”

My heart stopped for a second when his words entered my ears. I shook my head as I stepped towards him, “Please believe me..”

“I said fucking leave!”

And that's when I realised my love lost this game. And his pessimism won!

Again!
