Chapter-49 My name on your heart!

We reached the garden where the haldi ceremony was going on. Everyone from Tanishka's family was applying the yellow paste on her and Dhairya's cheeks.

Reya intermingled our fingers and started approaching them. My heart fluttered at this gesture making my cheeks blush.

Reya went near Tanishka and bent down to take some haldi paste in her hand and then straightened up, extending her hands towards her cheeks.

She applied it over her face and did the same on Dhairya's cheeks. She giggled and I loved seeing her so happy. Finally my surprise was worth it.

She came back and stood beside me and whispered, “They look cute together!” She giggled while her eyes were fixed on the couple sitting in front of us.

I leaned at the level of her earlobe and muttered, “Not more than us, Sunflower!”

She bit her lower lip, her cheeks getting redder as she punched me in my bicep laughing softly.

“Oh my god! Look who's here?” I heard a feminine voice from behind and turned around instantly.

Aarti Ma'am, Tanu's mother, stood there, with a gift hamper in her hand as she smiled at me. She was our Hindi Teacher back in our school time and I must say she's so open minded and full of life. I've always respected her from the core of my heart.

I smiled back at her and stepped ahead. Bending down, I touched her feet. “Kaise ho aap?” I asked.

She patted my shoulder and chuckled, “I'm very good! Aur tumhari Premika kesi hai? Roka shoka hogaya haan?” She teased me.

I ran my hands through my hair and whispered, “Premika jaldi hi Patni banane vali hai!”

She laughed loudly and shook her head before making her way towards the couple. I looked around for Sunflower and found her sitting near Tanishka.

I strode towards her with long steps and sat beside her. She looked at me with a smile while Tanishka said, “Bhai thank god tu aa gaya! Varna teri sunflower meri jaan khati poore time!” making us chuckle.

“Meri sunflower bulaaye, aur main na aau ese kese ho sakta!” I chuckled and stood making my way towards Dhairya.

Giving a brotherly hug to him, I wished him and he welcomed me with a big smile. We talked a little before I went to take a call.

I had just kept the call when I heard my Sunflower's voice. I lifted my gaze and saw her approaching me with her hands lifted in front of her.

“Vayuu!” She called again, making me smile at her.

“Haath peele karne ki bahut jaldi hai tujhe!” I teased her, making her glare at me.

“My phone!” She said.

“When did you give it to me?” I asked checking my pockets when she kicked my leg with her foot. “Idiot, my phone is ringing. It's there in the left pocket. See my hands are filled with haldi, pick it up fast!” She said in a single breath.

“Okay okay! Calm down Sharma!” I said as I leaned forward, extending my hand towards the left pocket of her kurta.

When did girl's kurta start having pockets?

Pulling the phone out, I looked at the screen and it showed Mumma.

“Oh it's my sweet mother in law! Let me talk to her!” I chirped as I accepted the call.

Reya rolled her eyes over it and whispered, “Put it on speaker!”

“Hello!” Mumma said from the other side of the phone.

“Hi mummy!” I replied grinning like an idiot.

“Are Vayush beta! Kese ho tum? Pahunch gaye ache se Gwalior?”

Before I could reply, Reya spoke up in between, “Wait a minute, Mumma aapko pata tha ye Gwalior aa raha hai?”

“Haan he told us!” Mumma replied. Reya lifted her brows at me, “Oh he told you!”

I pouted at her and whispered, “It was a surprise for you, love!”

“Mumma I'm good! How's Papa?” I asked mummy while my eyes were fixed on my Sunflower.

“He's good too! Vayush, Kittu pareshan to nahi kar rahi na tumhe?” Mumma asked making Reya to open her eyes widely.

“Achaaa..” she said, making me chuckle.

I brought the phone near myself as I spoke, “Mumma ab to zindagi bhar pareshan hone ke liye haan bol chuka hu, pareshan hone ke alava kar bhi kya sakta hu?”

Mumma laughed softly from the other side but Reya glared at me and snatched the phone from my hand. “Mumma stop being in his team every time! You're my mother.”

Saying so she cut the call and lifted her eyes at me. “Oh! So tu pareshan hota hai mujhe? Fine, Kashyap! Now I won't bother you. BYEEE!” saying so she turned around and started moving in the opposite direction.

“Sunflower! I didn't mean that!” I went behind her.

3 HOURS LATER

It's been three hours and all I have been doing since then is to pamper my Sunflower who is angry with me.

I said all that in a jolly way but Reya took it seriously and now she's not talking to me for the past three hours.

The mehandi ceremony was going to start in thirty minutes and I was standing outside Tanu's room. Reya was inside too and I was waiting for her so that I could coo her.

After another 10 minutes, the door finally opened revealing Tanu in a dark green lehenga. “Where's Reya?” I asked her instantly, my eyes trying to peek inside through the half opened door.

“She's inside but..” Tanu's expression changed instantly to a serious one.

“But? Is she okay?” I asked as I gulped.

“Mmm..she needs you!” She said caressing my shoulder which made me more restless. I instantly moved inside and locked the door.

“Sunflower!” I called making my way towards her as she was sitting in the middle of the bed, her clothes scattered around her.

Her eyes found mine and the next moment she threw a cushion in my direction yelling, “I don't want to talk to you! You're bad!”

I caught the cushion in my hands before making my way towards her. “Okay calm down babe! Tell me what's wrong.”

“Get out!” She yelled again and stood up on the bed. She was wearing a blouse and a shapewear. “Why aren't you wearing a saree?” I asked.

“I can't wear it!” She cried pulling her hairs between her fingers.

“Why, Sunflower?” I asked as I sat on the bed near her. She sighed and got down from the bed, “Kuch nahi! I said get out Kashyap!” She said irritatingly.

She made her way towards the mirror and stood in front of it. I saw tears in her eyes and I instantly strode towards her. “Babe! Why're you crying?” I held her by her shoulder. She pushed me away again, wiping her tears.

“Chala jaa yahan se! I won't bother you!” She whispered and turned to face the mirror again. Before I could reply anything, my eyes went down on her waist. The scar! Shit!

She must be insecure about it. I saw her eyes darting at the scar through the mirror. Without saying anything, I left the room.

How mean he could be? I asked him to get out and he literally did. Asshole!

How dare he say that I bother him! Now you see Mr. Vayush Kashyap! He's very bad and I won't talk to him.

“Agghhhhh!” I cried as I sat on the bed again, my clothes scattered all around the room. I had this green saree only for the mehndi function but I don't think I can wear this.

This scar on my waist. How will I face the world with it? It will be clearly visible in the saree. And right now, I don't have another green dress. It's a mehndi function and I can't wear any other colour because of the dress code.

I should have thought about it while packing my bags. I'm so stupid!

I pushed my face in the pillow and started sobbing. I know this is so childish, but right now I feel like teleporting myself to a big shop until I find a good dress for myself perfect for the function.

I might appear all bold and strong in front of the world, but this scar, it held all the powers of the world to convert me into a scared kitten.

My sobs became quieter when I heard the knob of the door opening. I lifted my head a little to see who was at the door and I found Vayu coming inside.

“Sunflower!” He said softly, approaching me.

“Go away! I hate you! You left me alone!” I said pushing my face more into the pillow.

I heard as he sighed and sat beside me. “Okay but come on, get ready! We're getting late for the mehndi ceremony, Sunflower!” He said caressing my hair.

I shook my head and whispered, “I don't want to go!”

“How bad will Tanu feel if you won't go hmm? C'mon, wear the saree baby!” He said again as I sat up beside him.

“But..” my head bent down as I looked at the scar on my waist.

“Wear it! For me, hmm?” He whispered cupping my cheeks in his palms.

Before I could shake my head in a negative response, he pleaded, “Please!”

I sighed and got down from my bed and started wrapping the saree around the shapewear. As I arranged the pleats, I covered my waist with the fabric so that the scar won't come in notice.

Vayu was constantly looking at me and smiling in between. Once I was done, I turned to face him, my fingers fidgeting among themselves.

“Is it okay?” I asked and he stood up before coming near me. He held my chin as I looked into his eyes. And he shook his head.

“Is it..” I was asking but he interrupted in between, “Close your eyes!”

“Huh!” A sound left my mouth in confusion.

“Close your eyes, Sunflower!” He said, pecking the sides of my lips.

I did what he said without any tantrums. I closed my eyes, my fingers still playing with each other. And in a few seconds, I felt his hands over my hands as he separated them.

I kept my hand on the side of both the thighs clutching the fabric in my fist as if I'm standing in an attention pose. Before I could decipher anything, I felt his fingers untucking the saree from my waist region.

Is he mad or what? How can some be horny at this hour?

I cursed him in my mind and was about to open my eyes when I heard him saying, “Don't open your eyes until I say so!”

I winched, squeezing my eyes tightly.

His fingers continued to play over my waist as he was now tucking the saree back. I had no idea what he was doing.

It was only making me restless and so I kept my both hands over his shoulder when I realised he was in a kneeling position before me.

The sensual touch of his rough fingers was already making me restless when I felt something cold around my waist. It was some sort of metal? Maybe.

Despite a growing urge to know what he was doing, I stayed quiet unless he finally spoke up, “Open your eyes, Sunflower!” His voice was soft and filled with excitement.

My hands were into his and he was standing behind me as I opened my eyes. I looked at myself in the mirror, and then at Vayu who was smiling behind me.

And then my eyes fell on my waist. The fabric of the saree was pulled down from my waist which covered the scar and now my scar was clearly visible with a- waist chain! There was a waist chain around my waist, running from over the scar, unable to hide it despite its own beauty.

I wasn't deciphering anything when I saw Vayu kneeling down before me again as he held my waist between his hands.

He leaned forward and brushed his lips over the scar making me moan a little as I fisted my hands on his hair. He kissed it again before pulling away and said, “The scar looks more beautiful now!”

My dry eyes got filled with tears immediately at his words. Sometimes I don't believe how he understood me so well, without any conversation between us.

But then, my mind went back to the scar. It was still visible.

“This waist chain isn't there to hide the scar Sunflower! It's there to enhance its beauty and to make you confident about every part of your being.” He whispered standing up and kissing my forehead.

Tears rolled down my cheek and he was so quick to wipe them off before they escaped from my chin.

I wrapped my arms around him, pushing my face into his chest. “I love you!” I muttered.

He chuckled a little before saying, “You said you hate me a few minutes ago!”

And then it clicked me. Yes I was angry with him. I pulled away and looked at him. Tiptoeing myself I pecked his cheeks and the other second, I pushed him away and yelled, “I'm still mad at you! Asshole!”

Even if I'm so overwhelmed by his actions right now, he isn't supposed to say that I bother him.

He facepalmed himself and said, “Isse bolte hai Khudke per pe kulhadi maarna!”

I chuckled at him but instantly maintained my composer. “Get out!” I yelled at him but he replied, “Let me change at least!”

I glared at him as I got busy doing my hair and makeup while he went inside the bathroom to change.

Once I was done, I kept my clothes back in the cupboard when the bathroom door opened and my jaw almost dropped when I saw Vayu wearing a kurta of the same colour as my saree.

I so wanted to kiss him right now, but I'm mad at him, I reminded myself.

I started moving out of the room and shouted, “Lock the door before you come!” I went outside and had reached the stairs only when I felt a tug at the hem of my saree.

I looked behind and saw Vayu standing right beside me. I glared at him while he grinned like an idiot and we made our way towards the hall where the mehndi ceremony was going on.

Reya was so quick to get away from me as she went near Tanu and sat beside her. I know she's mad at me but she can't stay mad for long.

I went on the other side to check the preps while the girls got busy applying mehndi on their hands.

It has been around 15-20 minutes when I felt a hold on my bicep. My face turned in the direction and I saw my Sunflower standing there.

“What happened, Sunflower? Tune mehndi nahi lagwai?” I asked when she started pulling me.

“Aree..” I tried to ask a question but she shut up and made me sit on a chair. “Yahi betha reh!” She said and went away. Confusion surrounded me and I sighed.

God knows what's going on in her mind.

I got busy on my phone and after five minutes I felt Reya approaching me. I must say she was looking so pretty like an angel in that green saree. So fucking mine!

I saw her as she came and sat beside me on another chair with a plate full of food in her hand.

“Subah se kuch khaya hai tune?” She glared at me while I shook my head.

Forwarding a morsel of roti dipped in Dal, she said, “Dhyan kyu nahi rakhta khudka?” I took the bite while smiling at her.

“Tu hai to sahi mera dhyan rakhne ke liye!” I replied while chewing the food. A soft smile appeared on her lips but she instantly covered it over.

“Don't forget I'm still angry with you!” She whispered as she forward a spoon full of rice towards me. I chuckled while eating it.

She made me eat with her hands until the plate was all empty. And like a good little boy, I ate everything happily.

Once she was done, she stood up but I held her wrist, and made her sit again. “Sorry naa Sunflower! I was just teasing you!” I confessed.

“But I'm not teasing you! I'm really mad at you, how could you say that main tujhe pareshan karti hu?” She said in an angry voice.

“Sunflower vo bas..” before I could complete she stood and started moving towards the hall. I heard her voice when she said, “Jaa rahi hu mehndi lagvane!”

I followed her like a small kid as we entered the hall again. She went near Tanishka and settled on a couch placed on a corner where a girl was sitting. Maybe she was applying mehndi to others.

I strode towards her and sat just close to her on the same couch. She eyed me and whispered, “Stop following me!”

“I won't!” I replied instantly with a grin. The girl started applying mehndi on Reya's hand while I continued to pamper her. My voice was barely audible so that only my Sunflower could hear me.

Our attention was caught when the girl said, “Didi, kiska naam likhu haath pe?” My lips curled into a big smile as I was confident that Reya would say my name to be written between her mehndi design.

I was leaning against the cushion with pride when Reya said, “Kisi ka bhi nahi! Jiska likhavana tha vo mujhse pareshan ho chuka hai! To tum kuch bhi mat likho.” She said while glaring at me.

The girl went away leaving me all dumbstruck with the reply of Reya. “Sunflower, this is not done yaar!” I cried pouting at her.

“Yeah! And I'm so done with you!” She said and stood up making her way towards the room.

I scratched my forehead and cursed myself for saying all this on the phone to mummy. My Sunflower was really angry with me. But that doesn't mean she can deny writing my name on her hand.

I looked around myself and my eyes stopped at the mehndi cone placed on the couch. I instantly picked it up and kept it in my pocket with a smirk on my face.

The sun set when other customs were taking place during the wedding. I was feeling guilty with each passing hour and it was making me all restless.

After the dinner was done, everyone went back to their rooms but I had some other plans. Once everyone was asleep, I called Tanu and asked if Reya had slept or not.

She told me that my Sunflower slept immediately after laying in bed. I told her whatever happened throughout the day and she laughed hard.

“Or pange le isse!” She teased.

“Ab tu to mat majak bana! Acha please can you open the lock of your room? Just for 10 minutes please!” I requested her and luckily she agreed.

“No issues! Vese bhi main or Dhairya terrace pe milne vale hai! You can take your time. But make sure you lock the door. Kisi ne dekh liya to kalesh ho jayega!” she explained and I nodded.

Making my way towards her room, I made sure no one saw me. Once I reached the room, I twisted the knob slowly and entered the room after locking the door.

Luckily Tanu had already left and my eyes fell on my Sunflower sleeping on one corner of the bed, cuddling a pillow.

Taking long steps towards her, I knelt down before her and pecked her forehead. She looks pretty even in her sleep.

Pulling her hand into mine, I took out the mehndi cone from my pocket and started writing my name on the empty space between the designs. She frowned a little but didn't wake up.

Once I was done, I kissed her temples and whispered, “Stop denying my name on your hands, when you know it's already imprinted on your heart, Sunflower!”
